Abbey

Abbey Rural-Net builds on the successful Abbey Rural Business Club which was formed in September 2002 for Sherborne and surrounding Villages.

Presentation topics vary widely – from internet optimisation to public speaking and sales techniques to employment legislation.

Chairman of the club is Pat Appleyard who owns Eastbury House, a care home in Sherborne (Eastbury House website)

Eastbury House is a privately run residential home for the elderly. It was established in 1974 by the owners and is situated in the centre of Sherborne within a few minutes level walk of the shops and the Abbey. The house, parts of which date back to the early 17th. century has nineteen rooms available for residents together with dining room and sitting room.
